About Nike Air Max 360
The Air Max 360 was first introduced to the American public in 2006 and was the first ever Nike Air Max shoe without a foam midsole. The Air Max 360 was heralded as a success because it garnered the most press amongst all the Air Max models and brought Nike much success on Wall Street. Nike also released a set of 360 “Hybrids” with the “One Time Only” pack and featured older models and classic colorways on a 360 sole.
The famed 360 degree Air Unit continues to be a basketball favorite. Appearing on a low top of all cuts, the Nike Air Max 360 BB Low manages to pack a lot of tech in a short sneaker. Aside from the talked about cushioning, this BB line model features Flywire on the upper with exposed mesh for enhanced flexibility and breathability. With a design reminiscent of the LeBron line, is a low top 360 shoe the best of both worlds or counter productive?
Flywire heavy may be an oxymoron, but at one point so was low top basketball shoe. The Nike Air Max 360 BB Low is both, packing a high tech upper above a 360º Air sole. Lightweight construction and a low cut are juxtaposed by big cushioning for a firm but light ride. Made up for All-Star weekend, the blue colorway represents the East squad with red holding it down for the home West.
In September we got a preview of this model and earlier today we saw Rajon Rondo debut them in Kicks On Court. Now we get detailed images of the Nike Air Max 360 BB Low. Flywire and full length Air come together on a low-top basketball model. With many similarities to the Nike LeBron 8, this shoe uses big branding and marquee cushioning. The lower cut provides a lighter weight alternative for players seeking the heavier cushioning usually reserved for mid-tops. Expect these to drop in the spring.
The Nike Air Max line has had a long and impressive history of constantly innovating and providing stylish ultra-functional sneakers in the process. The latest offering in the line is the Air Max+ 2009 Running Shoe, a sleek new model with some very nice touches like Flywire technology and a full 360 Air Max sole unit, so you know they will be both lightweight and well-cushioned. The shoe also features a partially transparent upper that reveals the Flywire and a mesh underlayer. Two men’s and two women’s models will make up the initial drop. The fellas will have grey/black/red and silver/volt/black colorways to sink their teeth into, while the ladies versions will come in grey/orange and grey/silver/liquid lime. All four colorways of the men’s Air Max+ 2009 and women’s Air Max+ 2009 will be hitting NikeStore on April 4th but you can pre-order them now.
